Cooking grease stolen from Jimmy’s Southside, again
Darien police are investigating the theft of several hundred dollars worth of cooking oil from Jimmy’s Southside. An employee from Yellowgreen Environmental Solutions, a company responsible for recycling the used oil, contacted police on Sept. 5 to report the theft. Cooking grease was stolen another time from Jimmy's Southside earlier this year.
According to the police the lock on the outdoor oil container had been cut and the oil was removed. The missing grease was valued at $600, and the employee told police that several other locations he visited had been targeted as well. A canvass of the scene did not produce any further evidence, but the investigation is ongoing.
