Bike rider kicks police officer during arrest
Darien resident Adaobi N. Kurylov, 37, kicked a police officer as he tried to take her into custody after she was recognized riding her bike by an officer who knew there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest, according to the police report.
On Monday, Jan 15, at around 4:48 p.m., an officer stopped Kurylov on Main Street near Burtis Avenue after the officer followed behind her in a patrol car and saw her break traffic laws such as failing to indicate a turn using hand signals.
At police headquarters she “was not cooperative during the booking process and interfered with the officers in the booking area when trying to fingerprint her,” said the report.
She posted $5,000 bond for the warrant and for failure to appear second degree and another $5,000 for interfering with an officer and assault of public safety personnel. She was given a court date of Jan. 25.
