Active arrest warrant leads to charge for possession
A report of a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of a Norwalk man on an active warrant. While taking the man into custody police found a pill that tested positive for the drug MDMA.
The suspicious vehicle was reported just after 10 p.m. on Jan. 8 and police responded to the area of the Dunkin Donuts at 967 Post Road. A man had been seen banging on the window a silver Hyundai, and officers found the vehicle nearby.
There were three men in the car, and the driver explained that he had gotten into an argument with one of the other occupants and banged on the window. The matter had since been settled and they said there were no further issues. Officers identified all three men, but discovered that one had an active arrest warrant in Stamford.
Police arrested Shawn Osorio, 23 for failure to appear in court on a sixth degree larceny charge. Osorio was taken into custody and officers conducted a search of his person, leading to the discovery of the MDMA pill.
Osorio was transported to police headquarters where he was processed. He posted a $10,250 bond and was released with a court date of Jan. 18 in Stamford.
