The assistant chief of the Estherwood Police Department in Louisiana has resigned after posting a racist meme to his Facebook.
Wayne Welsh shared a cartoon meme Sunday depicting a woman holding a young girl's head under water in a bathtub, with the caption, "When your daughters (sic) first crush is a little negro boy."
According to KADN, the post has been deleted, but not before users on social media shared screenshots of the post. Welsh immediately began to defend himself with responses.
