OPUS for Person-to-Person, a growing organization of more than 200 women from Darien and surrounding towns, will hold its Havana Nights-themed spring gala at the newly-renovated Tokeneke Club on April 22.  Doors will open at 6 p.m. where guests will enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Cuba while overlooking the Sound.  All proceeds of the benefit will go directly to Person-to-Person’s programs that support children in need in our local community including, baby basics, the holiday toy store, camperships and scholarships.

William Raveis is the lead corporate sponsor of the benefit for the first time this year. “The generosity of William Raveis and our other corporate sponsors goes a long way in making the spring benefit the largest fundraiser for our organization every year,” said OPUS co-president, Jennifer Clemow. Additional sponsors include, Abercrombie Burns McKiernan & Co. Insurance, Inc., Allstate Insurance, Baywater Properties, Callari Cars, Carlson & Carlson, ERI Building & Design, LLC, Exterior Living,  Francis Development, The Glassmeyer Family, Houlihan Lawrence – The Home Team (Doug Milne and Sheree Frank), Landmark Financial Group, LLC, NOLA Physical Therapy, P.C., Pure Barre Darien, and VAS Construction, Inc.

Board liaison Lisa Bishai with co-chairs Melanie Brucker, Heather de Bie, Shannon Doherty, Jennifer Handt, and Danielle Santoro, as well as the entire Havana Nights committee have been hard at work since last summer planning an extraordinary evening. Guests at the Havana Nights gala will enjoy a gourmet sit down dinner featuring Cuban cuisine to be followed by dancing to the nationally-acclaimed band, The Sultans, for the second year in a row. An exciting lineup of live and silent auction packages has been assembled thanks to the efforts of the Auction committee and the generosity of their donors. Auction highlights include: an evening with 40 friends on the Long Island sound aboard a SoundWaters schooner, a backyard lobster bake for 50 people, a trip to Aspen, a Sonoma wine tasting trip and much more.

Havana Nights is supported with in-kind donations from local and national businesses, including BevMax, Christine Brooks Design, Connecticut Cigar Company, Glen Liquors, Event Design and Florals presented by Hessney & Co., Kirby and Company, Leary’s Liquor Cabinet, Nicholas Roberts, Party Fixins, PCI Creative Group, the Pistone Family, Sherri Carpentieri, Leary’s Liquor Cabinet, and the Tokeneke Club.
