To the Editor:

New year. New opportunities to serve your community of Darien. Last week, our Gov. Ned Lamont reminded us that Connecticut begins and ends with every single one of us. That it’s not someone else’s turn to lead but all of our turns.

The Darien DTC is a re calling upon fellow registered Democrats to join us on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27, from 3-5 at UCBC downtown for our Democratic Town Committee open house to learn more about the ways you can get involved in Darien to create the change you want to see in our community. We know that change can be driven out of the state house or out of our homes right here in Darien.

At the Open House you can learn about the over 100 roles on over 20 appointed and elected advisory boards and commissions in town doing amazing work for our coastlines, monuments & ceremonies, recycling center, youth and beloved seniors of Darien just to name a few.

In addition, current elected officials from our Boards of Education, Selectman, Finance and Planning & Zoning as well Board of Assessment Appeals and registrar will attend and share their expert, firsthand experiences serving the town as elected officials on these key governing boards with interested Democrats. Tax collector and town treasurer are two other elected offices in our town government.

In 2019 ask not what Darien can do for you, ask what you can do for Darien. How will you serve your community?

We look forward to meeting you and learning more about your interest in being a part of change and progress in Darien.
