Some lucky kids got a real "kick" out of their experience at the Darien Library recently.

Two Radio City Rockettes from Connecticut stopped by on Thursday for a crafting session with local children. The two Rockettes, Tiffany Billings from Danbury who will be performing with the Rockettes for her seventh year and Megan Kelley from Stratford performing for her fifth year, came to Darien before rehearsals begin.

Once rehearsals start in late September for the  Christmas Spectacular , the Rockettes will be rehearsing six hours a day, six days a week until the show opens. Before rehearsals start and their schedules get extremely busy, the Rockettes go out into tri-state area towns to meet with fans and families and spread a little early holiday cheer in the community.

They will also be stopping in Westchester, Long Island, and New Jersey. These two Rockettes worked with children on crafting lamps made out of mason jars, string lights, and decorations. Each child made a lamp of their with the help of their parents or guardian while stopping to take pictures with the two guests.

The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes will run from Nov. 9  to Jan. 1, 2019 at Radio City Music Hall.
