Primary 2018: Districts 2 and 5 voting relocated from Town Hall to adjacent Mather Center
On Tuesday, Aug. 14, Connecticut will hold its Republican and Democratic primaries. Offices that are holding primaries including governor, lieutenant governor, state representative of the 147th district representing part of Darien and Stamford, and attorney general. First Selectman Jayme Stevenson is seeking the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor. Stevenson is competing against the convention endorsed candidate, Sen. Joe Markley, and New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart.

Voting will be from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. District 1 and district 6 vote at the Board of Education building at 35 Leroy Avenue. District 3 votes at the Noroton Heights Fire Department, 209 Noroton Avenue. District 4 votes at Hindley School, 10 Nearwater Lane. There is one change to voting location Tuesday. Districts 2 and 5 normally vote at the Town Hall gymnasium, 2 Renshaw Road. However, Republican Registrar of Voters John Visi said Districts 2 and 5 will vote at the same address but in a different location. They will now vote in the Mather Senior Center due to better air conditioning quality for poll workers. The Mather Center is adjacent to Town Hall in the same complex.

Visi said he expects results to come in quickly Tuesday evening, however he said there are many absentee ballots that need to be counted.
