Parent talk at The Depot: What parents of sons and daughters need to know
On Thursday, March 14 from 7:15 to 8:30, The Depot will host a parent talk co-sponsored by the Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education — Parents of Sons, Parents of Daughters — what you need to know.
The conversation around the #MeToo movement seems to sometimes pit boys against girls or men against women, and many boys and men aren’t quite sure where they fit in. Some want to be part of the change and don’t know how to get involved. Others may be angry or frustrated with the way boys and men are clumped into a negative category.
This could leave parents struggling to have this conversation. In this discussion with Jessica Feighan, director of education and outreach operations at the Center, attendees will talk about strategies to bring everyone together as a school, neighborhood, and community to overcome sexual violence as a whole — regardless of how one identifies according to gender.
Parent Talk is an informal discussion that is part of the Depot’s speaker series. Please RSVP to ptpwnk031419.eventbrite.com.
The Depot is at 25 Heights Road, Darien.
