POSTPONED: Darien Fireworks postponed to Sunday, July 7
UPDATE Saturday 9:30 a.m. — Fireworks Weather Update: Due to impending inclement weather, the Darien Parks and Recreation Fireworks have been postponed until Sunday, July 7. Event times do not change. Gates open at 6:30pm and Fireworks at dusk (approximately 9:15pm).
The National Weather Service is predicting isolated strong to severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon into this evening that may produce strong to damaging wind gusts. Localized flash flooding is also possible. Sunday is predicted to be partly sunny with a high near 81 degrees. Sunday evening is expected to be a calm evening — partly cloudy with a low around 64.
The Darien Parks and Recreation’s fireworks display returns on a rain date of Sunday, July 7 at Darien High School. Parking passes are on sale at Town Hall Room 110 (Parks and Recreation) through July 5 (8:30 to 4:30) Parking passes are $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Pedestrians are free. Also returning are local food vendors and the Community Band as well as a new performance from Leaf Jumpers performing alternative hits from the 90s through today! Again this year also there will be a sensory-friendly location for viewers.
