New York man arrested after allegedly sideswiping other vehicles on I-95 in Darien
A New York man was arrested by Connecticut State Police Tuesday after he reportedly hit several other motorists on I-95 in Darien between exits 11 and 12.
At about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the vehicle driven by Jonathan Cames, 35, of Chester New York, was traveling northbound in the right lane when he sideswiped two cars after allegedly driving into the left lane causing possible injuries and car damage. Darien Police and Darien Fire Department arrived on scene to assist the state troopers. The right lane was closed for about an hour while the investigation was conducted.

State Troopers were investigating the incident when they allegedly found illegal narcotics in the vehicle driven by Cames. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance of less than half an ounce, reckless driving, failure to maintain established lane, and distracted driving. He posted the $2,500 cash/bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Court on July 9.
