Letter: Darien Youth Commission announces winner of first town-wide scavenger hunt
To the Editor:
And the winner is…the Roche family! Over 50 folks from the community registered 14 vehicles for the Darien Dash, the first ever Scavenger Hunt sponsored by the Darien Youth Commission. Teams were given “passports” which included 20 riddles. The answers to the riddles were local establishments in Darien. Teams received one point for every correct answer. They also had the option of going to those locations and getting their passports stamped for an additional three points per location. The event, which started at the Darien Town Hall ended with a reception at the Depot Teen Center. Second place honors went to the O’Brien family; third place went to Steve Rooney and a whole bunch of boys!
Thanks to the students on the DYC whose vision and hard work culminated with a terrifically fun community event. Thanks to Diane Farrell of Farrell Marketing and Media for her expert guidance in promoting the event.
