Darien Nature Center is holding a contest to name its new screech owl. The owl  that came to us from Delaware Valley Raptor Center in Milford, Pennsylvania with a vision impairment. It was there for about four months before we brought it here to the Darien Nature Center.
Owls are difficult to sex and age, so they are not sure if it is male or female or how old it is.
This owl is settling into its new home with the nature center's  other screech owl, named Blinken. The two are getting along wonderfully.
The naming contest is from now through Aug. 5.
Our animal curator will choose a winner, and that person will receive a prize.
Comments and voting can be registered at the nature center's Facebook page.
