Happening now: Darien Environmental Group to hold Pear Tree Point Beach clean up Sunday
The Darien Environmental Group (DEG) has partnered with Planet New Canaan to launch a competition to see which town can get more residents to make the “Skip the Straw” pledge. Pledging to say “no thanks” when offered a straw is a small step that goes a long way for ocean health, and it’s always fun to help Darien beat New Canaan.
The competition will kick off on Nov. 18 at Pear Tree Beach at 11 a.m. with a beach clean-up. BMW of Darien is sponsoring this event and has supplied prizes for the participants. Surfrider Foundation is co-sponsoring the event, and they will bring music and other fun aspects.
The DEG is inviting all Darien residents to come and join us at the beach clean-up. Also, help the town win the competition by taking the “Skip the Straw” pledge on our website. www.darienenvironmentalgroup.com
Kindly, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org for kids to receive a goodie bag at the beach clean-up event.
