Police arrested a Darien man for risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct after arguing with a family member on Aug. 31. The victim called police after an argument became physical. The victim told police that during the course of the argument the children the two share were woken up by the commotion. The victim said she went upstairs to put the children back to bed but the suspect followed and began “demanding” the kids, which she refused.

She told police that the suspect began punching her arm while she was holding one of the children to get her to let go. She said the suspect then took one of the children downstairs and out into the front yard, leading her to call the police.

The suspect told police that the argument never became physical and at no time was it severe enough to call the police. Though the victim did not report injury, the suspect was placed under arrest and processed for the above charges. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Sept. 4.
