Darien YMCA’s Piranhas tryouts & swimming stroke evaluation begins August 27
The Darien YMCA Piranha Swim Team will be hosting their annual Fall Stroke Evaluation Clinic & Try Outs, August 27 to 30. This clinic is open to swimmers who wish to try out for the Piranha Swim Team or House program. The Piranhas is the YMCA’s year round competitive Swim Team and “House” is the YMCA’s “pre-competitive” program. Both programs run out of the Darien YMCA’s William Ziegler Pool.
The Fall Stroke Evaluation Clinic & Try Outs is open to swimmers who are at least 6-years-old. Swimmers considering the stroke clinic and try outs for the team should be able to swim at least three of the following strokes: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly, as well as be able to dive into the pool. During the clinic, coaches will teach drills for all four competitive strokes while analyzing swimmers technique and correcting technical form.
Anyone interested in the clinic can sign up online or in person at the Darien YMCA. For more information please check the Darien YMCA homepage www.darien-ymca.org or contact Henk Jansen in the Piranha office 203-655-8228 ext. 1397 or via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
