Darien Sidewalk Sales return in July, classic cars sought
The Darien Chamber of Commerce is looking for antique or collectible car owners to show their cars on Saturday, July 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. during Sidewalk Sales and Family Fun Days. (Set up begins at 12:15) There will be a People's Choice award with ribbons.

The Darien Chamber of Commerce will hold its sidewalk sales and family fun days from July 6 to 8 from 9 to 5 p.m.
The First County Bank is continuing as the Title Sponsor of this fun family outing. This popular sales event features merchants exhibiting along the Post Road and at the Goodwives and Noroton Heights Shopping Centers. Many bargains, with discounts of up to 70%, are expected to be offered. The special newspaper insert which is a guide to the three day event will be available at the Darien Chamber tent all three days.
On Thursday, July 6, shoppers can stop by the Chamber tent to get a guide to the events over the three days. There will be a special treasure hunt for adults to win prizes with a list of participating retailers at the Chamber Tent. Children can have fun with a special guessing contest at the Chamber tent as well. Find out more about “Where’s Waldo” at Barrett Bookstore in Noroton Heights Shopping Center. Shake Shack will have free custard tastings at the Chamber Tent at 12.
On Friday, July 7, there will be a face painter at the Darien Toy Box, face painters from The Depot at First County Bank, Mr. Bungles with his balloon creations, the Sound Tigers mascot, storm, and an inflatable bouncy house downtown.
Friday night, the Mars Project will appear at Grove Street Plaza as part of the downtown summer nights concert series.
On Saturday, July 8, on Tokeneke Road, families can enjoy a cookie decorating event at SoNo Baking Co. One hundred free popsicles will be given out by the chamber.
Darien Fire House will have a fire truck and a Darien police officer will be there wit his special Harley Davidson Motorcycle. The “Survivors Swing Band” at Grove Street Plaza 12 to 2 p.m. Collectible cars will be on Day Street behind Darien Rowayton Bank to find the 2nd Annual Collectible Car Show from 1 to 4 p.m.
