Darien House Tour supporting Liberation Programs, other non-profits, will return in June
Tickets are now on sale for the Darien House Tour: Homes with Heart which will support Liberation Programs and other local non-profits on June 6. This event, now in its fifth year, features six homes that represent a range of architectural and decorating styles and are selected for their diversity, location and, of course, beauty. Attendees can also enjoy lunch at the Country Club of Darien.
Organized by the First Congregational Church of Darien to raise funds for local nonprofit organizations, The Darien House Tour: Homes with Heart has raised over $250,000 for nearly 20 local nonprofits since its inception in 2015. Each year the committee chooses a lead beneficiary to receive a larger portion of the funds. The committee has chosen Liberation Programs as the lead beneficiary for 2019. Liberation Programs’ mission is to empower people and their families to be free of the disease of addiction by providing targeted solutions that restore lives and strengthen our community. Other beneficiaries include: ABC House, At Home in Darien, Building One Community, Carver Foundation of Norwalk, Child Guidance Center of Southern CT, Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Elderhouse, Feed My Starving Children, Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County, Connecticut Institute for Refugees & Immigrants, Inspirica, New Covenant House, Open Door Shelter, Pacific House, Person-to- Person, STAR, and The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis and Education.
The tour is made possible by Ring’s End, lead sponsor since the tour’s inception in 2015. Other early sponsors include: Platinum — Connecticut Cottages & Gardens (media sponsor), Jane Beiles Photography (tour photographer); Gold — Heather Gaudio Fine Art, Lynne Scalo Design; Silver — Creative Planning, Laurel Road Bank, Lynn Morgan Design, Matthew R. Dougherty Architect, Perfect Plantings LLC, Rand Insurance, William Pitt Sotheby’s; Bronze — Bankwell, Darien Upholstery, Eileen Lane Design, Nielsen’s, Rucci Law Group.
