Daisey Elizabeth Perez and Darien's Derek Stephen Sellhausen, both St. Luke's alumni, are married
Daisey Elizabeth Perez and Derek Stephen Sellhausen were married May 18 at Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Wesport. Rev. Cyrus performed the ceremony. A reception followed at the historic 1880 Roton Point Club on Long Island Sound, Rowayton, arriving by the yacht,“Resolute” captained by family friend, Samuel Fuller and first mate Oksana Kashuba.
The bride, 28, was a human resource associate for Bridgewater Associates now supports Bridgewater at Genpact. She graduated from Wesleyan University, with a bachelor’s degree, College of Letters in 2012 and earned a master’s degree from Relay Graduate School of Education 2014, while working for Teach for America as a NY Corps member at Achievement First charter school in Brooklyn. She is the daughter of Daisey Roman Perez and Maximo Perez of Trumbull. The bride’s father is Director of Business Development at the city of Bridgeport. Her mother is an ITS Coordinator at Yale New Haven Health.
Mr. Sellhausen, 29, recently joined Athletic Brewing Co., Stratford, a start-up non-alcoholic craft beer company as head of E-Commerce, Strategy and Packaging after six years on Wall Street as vice president of Wallach Beth Capital, ETF Trading Solutions, New York. Founder of Athletic Brewing Co. is Darien native, Bill Shufelt. Derek graduated from Skidmore College, New York where he was business finance major and a member of the men’s lacrosse team, in 2012. He is the son of Stephen and Denise Sellhausen of Darien. The groom’s mother worked as a creative director in advertising at Grey, New York and is now an independent film maker and designer in Darien. Derek’s father, who was SVP of corporate strategy of Dover Corp. and formerly Citibank Investment Banking is currently Chief Operating Officer and SVP Strategy at UltraPure, the #1 U.S. based bulk alcohol supplier.
The couple met in high school in 2008 at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan.
