Cops investigate armed robbery at Gulf Station; see public's help in identifying suspect
Police are searching for the individual who robbed a gas station attendant at gunpoint on Oct. 26.
According to police, the suspect — described as a black male wearing a black mask over his face, black pants and a black jacket — entered the Gulf Station, 1044 Post Road, about 8:30 p.m., brandished a handgun and demanded money.
Police said the attendant opened the register, at which the suspect took the cash from the drawer. Police interviewed a witness, who had been leaving the store as the suspect entered, who corroborated the attendant’s account. Police said responding officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. A State Police K9 responded to the scene to attempt to track the suspect but were unable to locate the male.
The video surveillance was reviewed, according to police, confirming that the suspect appears to be a medium-build black male, approximately 5’10” to 6’0”, and is seen wearing a black “North Face” jacket with fur around the hood. The suspect is seen leaving the store through the front door and running east, said police.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Darien Police Detective Division at 203-662-5330.
