Cash stolen from Darien UPS Store, surveillance tapes intentionally disabled
Employees at the Goodwives Shopping Center UPS store reported $600 in cash and three computer hard drives stolen on Sept. 5
According to police, an employee, who helped open the store, noticed that a rear door that is normally secured had been left unlocked before discovering the crime. Surveillance footage showed a white man wearing glasses entering through the door, but the footage ends when he forcibly removed the hard drive from the first computer and cut power to the camera system.
The cash was taken from the registers and three computers were damaged as well. An investigation in to the theft is ongoing.
