For Toys for Tots: Helen Ainson holds third annual fashion show benefit
Helen Ainson held its third annual holiday fashion show to benefit Toys For Tots on Wednesday evening, Dec, 6, at their shop located at 1078 Post Road in Darien.
All attendees brought a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toys For Tots or give a donation of $30 at the door, and The Darien Toy Box provided the gifts. Store owner, Erica Jensen said that “last year’s event was so successful, and the feedback was so positive. that we decided to make this an annual event.”
“It really makes people focus on the true meaning of the season, and giving these toys to children who otherwise would not get a gift is a truly wonderful feeling,” she said.
“The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots goal is to provide a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas, and we are thrilled to once again be part of their effort,” she said.
The participating businesses were Andrew Stefanou Salon & Spa and Festivities Event Catering.
The evening featured a fashion show with models wearing sportswear and eveningwear from Helen Ainson, as well as jewelry and other accessories found in their shop, many from local designers who create one-of-a-kind items.
Andrew and Dee Stefanou, Owners of Andrew Stefanou Salon & Spa have supported our event for the last three years by beautifully doing all of the models hair and make-up.
Roe Chala from Festivities Event Catering once again provided small bites.
Goodie bags filled with surprises from each of the participating businesses were given out to guests as well that evening.
