NORWALK — A nationwide error in Microsoft email servers resulted in emails sent to city employees not being delivered and subsequently sent the city website out of sorts, city spokesperson Josh Morgan said. The email server error began Monday and has since been fixed, but in amending the malfucnction, the city’s website, NorwalkCT.org, was garbled in the process, he said. No resident or city data has been accessed, the website was not hacked and there was no security breach, Morgan assured. “Email is back to normal now, but whatever was fixed got pushed out threw an error with webside prviders,” he said Tuesday. The city’s IT department spent Tuesday working to bring the Norwalk website back to order, with pages slowly regaining functionality. While the website may not return to normal and have all regular capabilities immediately, city departments and employees still have phone access and can answer any questions, Morgan said.
