Darien Antiques Show in its 46th year

Celebrating its 46th year, the Darien Antiques Show, which takes place March 1 to 3, will feature more than 30 exhibitors showcasing numerous fine antiques, including furniture, carpets, paintings, jewelry, posters and pottery. The show opens at the First Congregational Church, 14 Brookside Road, Darien, with a preview party on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., and continues on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds from the show benefit a number of charitable organizations, including Inspirica, formerly St. Luke's Lifeworks, which is the primary beneficiary of the preview party. The sponsors are William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty, Darien Rowayton Bank and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens. "Some dealers reserve special items just for our show," said Patricia Hedlund, who, with Janet Soskin, chooses some new dealers each year to enliven the mix. Admission to the party is $50 at the door and includes weekend admission to the show. Tickets to the show are $10 at the door; $8 for seniors and discount card/ad holders.
