DARIEN — Two unlocked cars were entered on Hollow Tree Ridge Road, resulting in a stolen iPod and credit cards.

The first report came in on Oct. 28 around 8:15 a.m. The complainant told police she received a “fraud alert” email from her bank around 6:30 a.m. When she went to check her gray 2017 Toyota Highlander, she found her purse was missing and her center console left open. She then checked her bank accounts and found $1,200 in fraudulent charges had been put on her card overnight.

The woman determined someone had taken the purse from her unlocked car overnight and was using her credit cards that had been in her bag. Around 7:30 a.m., a neighbor found the woman’s wallet on the street with everything missing except her driver’s license.

Around 11 a.m., another Hollow Tree Ridge Road resident entered his gray 2010 Ford Fusion and found his center console was left open and his iPod missing after leaving the car unlocked overnight. The man contacted police around 11:40 a.m.

Police are continuing to investigate these incidents.
