iPhone 7 meant for Darien store stolen
DARIEN — An iPhone 7 that was supposed to be delivered to the Verizon store on the Post Road was stolen en route to Darien.
On Nov. 4 at 5:50 p.m., the manager of the Verizon store contacted police to report the theft of a 32GB iPhone 7. The phone was shipped to the store from a warehouse in Philadelphia, but when the package arrived in Darien on Nov. 4, the phone was missing.
Police believe the theft occurred between Nov. 2 at noon, when the package shipped, and when it arrived in the Verizon store. Police do not believe the phone was stolen in Darien and the manager told the driver the phone was stolen in transport.
According to the complainant, the suspects may have cut out the bottom of the box. The complainant also said this has happened to other Verizon stores before.
