Volunteers helped to unload almost 1,500 wreaths for the Wreaths Across America ceremony scheduled for noon this Saturday, Dec. 14, in Spring Grove Veterans Cemetery. One hundred and forty twoboxes of wreaths were unloaded early Tuesday morning by volunteers. Wreaths Across America is being coordinated by the Darien VFW Post #6933 this year.

Members of the wreath convoy of tractor trailers, motorcycles, State Police, and support vehicles with Karen and Morrill Worcester, founders of Wreaths Across America will pass Darien on route 95 between 7 and 8 p.m. tonight after stopping at the St Ann Club in Norwalk for dinner on their journey from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery. Last year, the Noroton Heights Fire Department, Darien townsfolk and members of Good Wife's River DAR chapter gathered on the Noroton Avenue overpass to wave flags and cheer the convoy.
