Woman charged with robbing bank
HAMDEN — A local woman has been charged with the robbery of a Webster Bank last summer.
Julie Shepard, 51, of Warner Street is being held on a $200,000 bond after her arrest Saturday, Capt. Ronald Smith said. She had been arrested by State Police, and the FBI assisted in the investigation, officials said.
Shepard will be arraigned Feb. 11 at Superior Court in Meriden on charges of first-degree robbery and fifth-degree larceny.
Shepard was identified as the woman who entered the Webster Bank on Helen Street on Aug. 25, implied that she had a gun and passed a teller a note demanding money.
The suspect at the time was described as 5’7, wearing a neck-length wig and dark-colored pants.
