Weather cancels first day of Norwalk Oyster Festival
NORWALK — The first day of Norwalk’s 42nd annual Oyster Festival is canceled due to high winds and rain in the forecast.
The festival, which runs through Sunday in Veteran’s Park, was to open Friday at 6 p.m.
“We have an unbelievable lineup and we’re going to get back at it tomorrow,” Norwalk Seaport Association President Mike Reilly said.
The festival will run Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Performances include Alex Shillo and Billy Joel cover band Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot on Saturday and Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett cover bands the Jimmy Kenny Band and the Pirate Band.
Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $12 for adults, $5 for children age five to 12 and free for children under 5. Seniors over 62 are $10.
