Unlocked car burglaries continue in Darien, police say
Darien Police have reported a series of motor vehicle burglaries occurred during the overnight hours between Aug. 24 and 25 and involved unlocked cars where nothing was missing, unless otherwise noted. Evidence of the burglaries were open storage compartments and disturbed contents.
The vehicles are as follows:
A 2008 Subaru Outback on Oakshade Avenue
A 1997 Toyota Camry on Oakshade Avenue
A 2011 Nissan Maxima on Stanley Road
A 2015 Acura RDX on Oakshade Avenue
A 2014 Chevrolet 1500 on Oakshade Avenue
A 2018 Jeep Wrangler on Libby Lane
A 2012 BMW 535xi on Holly Lane was missing Leatherman tool
A 2009 Honda Pilot had $50 taken from the wallet left in the center console, and a 2009 Volvo XC70 had $20 taken from the console on Libby Lane.
A resident on Hollow Tree Ridge Road was awoken around 12:30 a.m. that morning to a sound in his driveway. He looked outside and saw two males attempting to gain access to his 2019 Land Rover, which was locked. The two males ran back to the street and got into a Jeep Cherokee that left northbound on Hollow Tree Ridge Road.
