Robeks's Westport store, one of the national fruit-smoothie retailer's top-performing shops, will have a grand reopening Friday, Nov. 25, at its 398 Post Road West location.

The event, slated to start 7 a.m. when the store reopens, will include a variety of Black Friday bargains, prizes, gift cards and free smoothie samples, according to a release from Robeks. The first 50 customers will receive coupons for free Robeks Smoothie Bowls, a yogurt-smoothie combination, and each patron will get a chance to win free smoothies for a year, gift cards worth $25 and $50 and Robeks gift baskets during raffle drawings at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., the release states.

Free smoothies will be offered noon to 2 p.m. along with samples of yogurt and other food items, in addition to free face painting and live music, the release states.

The store, originally opened in 2006 as the state's second Robeks, became the business' top-selling franchise nationwide for several years, the release states. The shop, which set a first-year sales record that has yet to be broken, still remains among the top three of more than 125 Robeks stores around the nation, according to the release.

John Dunsmore, the new owner who bought the store in July and remodeled the 1,500-square-foot shop, has pledged to donate $1 from every smoothie sold during the three-day holiday weekend to Al's Angels, a Westport charity the helps children and families facing life-threatening medical or physical conditions.

Katrina Bickford, Robeks' regional director who first opened the Westport store, credited an "excellent location and excellent demographics, along with strong community involvement and savvy, health-conscience customers" as the reason for the store's success, according to the release.

Robeks has a location in Darien on the Post Road.
