Power has been restored throughout Connecticut after gusty winds contributed to thousands of outages on Friday.

Outages were restored by Saturday morning even as more than 400 customers remained without power as of late Friday night.

Nearly 1,000 outages were earlier reported in Norwalk alone after police said a tree came down on utility wires and a truck around midday Friday. The incident closed a section of West Rocks Road between between Aiken Street and St. Mary’s Lane. Police said the driver was not inside the truck.

Mitch Gross, a spokesperson for Eversource, said there were "scattered outages" across the state "due to the wind gusts and tree branches coming down on lines."
