A terrier mix named Henry bit a 73-year-old woman on the leg April 12, according to police.

The woman was walking along Linden Avenue at 11 a.m. when she passed another woman walking her dog on a leash, police said.

The dog then "nipped" the victim on her lower left leg, police said. The victim spoke with the dog owner, but did not realize the dog broke her skin until she arrived at her Wilson Ridge Road East home, police said. She then went to police headquarters to report the incident.

The dog owner was contacted at 2:45 p.m. The dog will be quarantined in a kennel for 14 days, according to police.

Animal control will follow-up.
