Stamford Hospital takes home awards

Stamford Hospital's Strategy & Marketing Department received a record 15 awards from the New England Society for Healthcare Communications at its recent Lamplighters Awards gala, which took place at NESHCo's Spring Symposium in Boston, Mass. With 15 awards, Stamford Hospital won more than any other hospital or healthcare system in New England and had the second highest total number of overall wins, with eight gold awards, three silver and four awards of excellence.

The hospital's Mommylogues campaign received gold awards for online and outdoor advertising, social/new media blog, and marketing total effort - $50,000+ budget. Gold awards were also received for crisis communications -- Stamford Hospital's response to negotiations with United Healthcare; community relations/outreach -- the Fairfield County Women's Expo; internal publications for the employee newsletter, Newsline; and excellence in writing press releases for a release titled "Use of CO2 Laser During Prostate Surgery."

Silver awards were received for an audio visual presentation for the hospital's master facility pan, its 2011 annual report, and the Mommylogues website. Awards of Excellence were presented for the design of the 2011 annual report, the design of the Mommylogues logo, the media relations effort for the Center for Integrative Medicine's herb garden and in internal communications for the re-launch of the employee newsletter, Newsline.

"Stamford Hospital has been consistently honored for producing some of the best marketing and communications work in New England," Lee Reynolds Crouch, APR, president of NESHCo, said. "Their entries are creative, innovative and results-driven and showcased Stamford Hospital extremely well."

The Lamplighters were established in 1974 to showcase and honor excellence in health care communications and marketing in the New England region. The 2012 competition included 300 entries from more than 85 organizations throughout the area. Entries were judged by the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Society.
