Scarf thief hits Brooks Brothers twice
Six cashmere scarfs, valued at $1,788, were stolen from Brooks Brothers, 987 Post Road, over the course of two days, police said.
The manager of the store said the suspect -- a white, middle-aged, heavy-set, bald man -- appeared in the store Oct. 11 at 11:30 a.m. and walked around roughly 20 minutes, police said. Surveillance cameras show him putting scarfs under his arms and leaving the store and leaving without paying, police said.
On Oct. 13, the man arrived at the store again and went directly to the second floor where the scarfs were and placed some under his sweater, police said. He then left the store.
The man took red, black, navy blue and gray scarfs, police said.
Police are investigating.
