Dr. Hugh Sampson, an internationally-renowned expert and director of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at New York's Mount Sinai Medical Center, will discuss the latest developments in food allergy research at the Food Allergy Initiative Connecticut Spring Educational Luncheon Tuesday, March 27, at the Woodway Country Club in Darien.

Titled "Beyond the Label," the luncheon program will highlight potential new therapies that could prevent life-threatening allergic reactions, freeing people with food allergies from the need for constant vigilance and strict avoidance of problem foods -- currently the only way for them to stay safe. In addition, FAI of Connecticut will present its leadership award, which honors a member of the community who exemplifies best practices in managing food allergies and who has gone above and beyond in keeping food-allergic children safe.

Jennifer Ferm and Saira Rizvi are the luncheon co-chairmen. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and support levels are as follows: Tables are available for $5,000, $2,500 and $1,200, and individual tickets are available for $500, $250 and $125.
