Holly Pond School's 13th annual Darien Family Fun Day was moved indoors at the Darien YMCA due to inclement weather Sunday, but children still enjoyed pony rides (held outdoors under a tent), a bouncy castle, a magic show, arts and crafts and games. Family Fun Day is the school's largest fundraiser of the year and was co-chaired by Sara Blake and Kerrie Langeveld.

"Despite the weather, the Darien community came out to support our school in great numbers," said April Greene, Holly Pond School's youth services director. "Our dedicated parents and volunteers did a superb job making the transition to an indoor event."

Record bids were placed for the creative gift baskets in the silent auction. With themes such as Polar Express, Hot Wheels, Star Wars, American Girl, Bakugan, Club Penguin, construction and Tinkerbell, these baskets were organized by class mothers.

and displayed artfully during the event.

Located at the Darien YMCA, the Holly Pond School's unique educational approach integrates traditional classroom activities with active exercise, swimming, gymnastics and arts & crafts. The school serves 2-year-old preschoolers through fifth-graders with a variety of preschool and after-school programs, including the Holly Pond Nursery School, After-School Kid's Club, Vacation Club and Holly Care Childcare Program.
