Police are searching for a man wearing a yarmulke who robbed a bank near the Goodwives Shopping Center Monday morning.

The suspect escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, police said. Police responded to a report of a robbery at The Bank of America at 7 Sedgwick Ave. at 10:30 a.m.

Police described the suspect as a white male, about 50 years old, 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, wearing a gray coat and gray or brown pants. He had gray hair, and was wearing a blue yarmulke, according to police.

"There were no weapons displayed," Sgt. Jeremiah Marron said.

Police said they would release surveillance images of the suspect later Monday.

"He was last observed leaving on foot through the door that faces Goodwives Shopping Center," Marron said.

A single marked police car was parked near the bank on Sedgwick late Monday morning while bank employees remained inside the building.

The bank is at the corner of Sedgwick and Old Kings Highway North.
