Police: Naked woman bites officer following DUI

A Darien woman is facing multiple charges after police said she bit a male officer following a car accident.

Allison Richards, 27, of 26B Fairfield Ave., was arrested Aug. 13 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal, assault on police officer, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an arrest.

Police were called to a car accident on Hollow Tree Ridge Road at around 8:45 p.m. after the 2005 Subaru Legacy Richards was driving landed nose down on a resident's lawn. Police believed Richards was intoxicated because she was swaying while standing and slurring her words.

She told police she'd been at Lord & Taylor, dropped off her son at home, started drinking and was unsure of how she ended up on Hollow Tree Ridge Road. Located inside the vehicle was a six-pack of Golden Monkey beer, which was missing one bottle that police said they found outside of the car.

When police tried to take her into custody, they said she began to scream profanity at officers, tore off her shirt, and threw it at a female officer. Officers attempted to subdue her, the report stated, and she began to fight and thrash around, kicking the officers and attempting to punch the female officer. Police said when they finally placed her inside the patrol car, she began to scream and kick the partition.

When the officers reached the police department, Richards initially refused to exit the vehicle, police said. When the officers brought her in to be processed, she kicked at them and continued to yell, the report stated. While officers attempted to restrain Richards, she bit one in the elbow. Later, in processing area, police said she attempted to undress herself. She continued to threaten officers, refused to leave the booking area, and had to be carried to the cell, according to police.

Richards did not post a $2,500 bond. Her court date is Aug. 23.
