Police: Man shot while driving to store in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT — A man was shot while driving along Berkshire Avenue over the weekend, according to police officials.

Capt. Kevin Gilleran, head of the Detective Bureau, said police learned of the shooting around 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

The 22-year-old victim sustained a single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He told officers he was shot while driving to a corner store somewhere along Berkshire Avenue, Gilleran said.

Another person drove the man to the hospital, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.

The Detective Bureau continues to investigate.
