Person-to-Person clients benefit from the generosity of GE Treasury employees
Just before the Christmas holiday, employees of GE Treasury in Stamford delivered holiday gift baskets to Person-to-Person for families in need. The baskets included clothing, toys and gift cards plus groceries for holiday meals, personal items and household cleaning items.
Person-to-Person identified three client families who would benefit from this generosity, but the GE Treasury team arrived with an additional gift basket -- just in case a new family came to the agency around the holidays.
Not content to stop there, and aware that need extends well beyond the holidays, the team also provided extra department store gift cards to be given to P2P clients throughout the year.
"Everything that was donated had been purchased with personal contributions made by the GE Treasury employees," notes P2P Development Director Diane Reese Tucker. "And they were so very thoughtful, going beyond the typical holiday gifts to include clothing and groceries as well as providing the additional gift cards."
In 2009, P2P provided assistance to nearly 25,000 individuals and was able to do so because of the many generous donations made by foundations, businesses, organizations and individuals like the employees of GE Treasury in Stamford.
