The Darien-New Canaan rivalry is renewed as the FCIAC boys ice hockey tournament starts on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Darien, which earned the third seed with an 8-2-1 conference mark, topped the Rams (6th, 7-4 in the FCIAC) 8-1 on Dec. 23 and 3-2 in overtime Feb. 9.

The Blue Wave and Rams clash in the first of two playdown games at 12:50 p.m. Staples takes on the Fairfield co-op at 6:30 p.m. in the second game, both from the Darien Ice House.

Then at 8:30, the New Canaan girls will take on Greenwich to crown the FCIAC girls ice hockey champion.

All three of Saturday's hockey games can be viewed on the HAN Network. Hockey coverage will not be picked up by Vantage Sports on Frontier.

Top-seeded Greenwich and second-seeded Ridgefield await the winners in the semifinal doubleheader, set for Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Darien Ice House. The FCIAC Championship will be decided Saturday, March 3, at 2:30 p.m. at the Darien Ice House. The HAN Network will cover all of the games in the tournament live.
