Officials: Firefighters extinguish Westport shed fire, no injuries

WESTPORT — Fire departments from Fairfield and Norwalk helped extinguish a one-alarm shed fire in town Sunday afternoon, officials said.

There were no injuries to civilians or fire crews.

The fire, reported around 10:38 a.m., was on Plover Lane, Westport police said. The shed was located 10 feet from two houses and arriving fire crews reported the fire was beginning to extend to the exterior of both residences.

All visible fire was rapidly extinguished, officials said. The fire was quickly confined to the shed and the exterior of both houses.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
