The second grade Noroton Fire Department flag football team picked up a 27-14 win over FGB Construction Saturday on the frozen tundra of Royle Elementary School. Both Noroton Fire (NFD) and FGB Construction (FGB) came prepared for an old school battle of heavyweights and neither disappointed.

NFD's John Fiorita continued his outstanding season by following a Ryan Roberts' lead block to the right, then cut back behind Grafton Ely for the longest touchdown run of the season. Thanks to outstanding defense from Cosmo Amatruda and Hudson Hearle, NFD got the ball back.

Quarterback Peter Zengo handed the ball up the right side for a Christian Alliegro touchdown run.

FGB's offense scored on an Alec Medwar run behind crushing blocks from Duke Hagen and William Stahl. The back and forth game continued with another Fiorita touchdown behind a block from James Leone for NFD. Then, Daniel Morrissey caught a long touchdown pass

The day ended with quarterback Charlie Hewitt faking left, running right and handing the ball to Kyle Haas for the final touchdown of the game.
