A hypodermic needle was found on Tokeneke Elementary School's playground, 7 Old Farm Road, Sunday morning, police said.

A parent, whose child was playing nearby, discovered the needle, which still had its protective cap intact, around 11:30 a.m., the Darien police report stated. The parent contacted police, who removed the needle from the property.

Police tested the needle and found no trace of illegal drugs, according to the report. The needle is not the same type that is associated with drug use and is not similar to the needles found last week at Holmes Elementary School, police said.

Darien police recommend not touching discarded hypodermic needles if they are found in public areas and the police should be contacted.

The incident is under investigation by the Darien Detective Division.
