Nelson Francisco Corrales, 43, of 1737 Noble Ave., Bridgeport, was arrested Aug. 10 on charges of driving while intoxicated, operating without a license and driving on the wrong way of a divided highway.

Shortly after 4 a.m. on August 10, a Darien police officer saw a 2005 grey Subaru Legacy being driven east in the westbound lane of the Post Road, according to the report.

Corrales told police that he was coming from Port Chester, N.Y., and was trying to show his passenger a contact on his phone, which is why he was driving on the wrong side of the road, according to the report.

Police said the odor of alcohol was detected on Corrales, who said he had consumed two beers throughout the evening, the report stated.

Corrales was administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, and consented to take a breath test, the report stated. Police said his blood alcohol account was 0.1146; the legal limit is 0.08.

While at headquarters, Corrales admitted to consuming six or seven beers during the evening, police said.

He posted $200 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 20.
