A Stamford man is facing charges for allegedly driving while intoxicated after striking two vehicles in Darien.

Michael McKinney, 35, of Stamford, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving the wrong way on a one way street and failure to carry a license Dec. 10. Officers responded to Center Street at 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle striking cars. McKinney was driving a 2006 Mercedes CL when he struck a 2004 Chevrolet Pickup truck before backing into a 2010 Honda when attempting to turn around, police said.

He failed his field sobriety test and was released on promise to appear. McKinney was scheduled to appear in court Dec. 19.
