The Darien Sport Shop is hosting its 41st annual kickoff to the holidays event full of goodwill, community fellowship and of course holiday spirit on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 4:30. The event will happen “rain, snow or shine” says Darien Sport Shop president Gina Zangrillo.

Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a performance from the Darien High School Tudor Singers and vendors with an overabundance of goodies at no charge.

Darien Parks & Recreation will be offering hot cider and cookie bags sponsored by Palmer’s. The Darien Boy Scouts will be serving with hot cocoa. Sprout Chef’s Chef Lisa and her middle school chefs-in-training will be serving up samples of their “Pumpkalada Soup.”

Also, the Bicentennial Committee will be present with their exciting 2020 plans for the new year. This entirely free event is open for the whole family to enjoy including your furrier family members — PawPrint Market will also be onsite providing treats to make sure there’s a little something for the whole family to enjoy on this magical evening. Santa will arrive at 5 p.m. on his fire truck to light the tree and then welcome all the children on stage with him to hear every last wish for this holiday season.
