Darien’s Katie Ramsay collected 20 goals in as many games during her first season with the University of Southern California women’s lacrosse team this spring.

A freshman midfielder, Ramsay played in all 20 of the Trojans’ games, collecting 24 points on those 20 goals and four assists. Her season-best performance was three goals and one assist in a 15-10 win over Hofstra in the opener on Feb. 9. She also had a hat trick in a 15-3 win at Arizona State on March 8.

Ramsay also collected 28 draw controls, 16 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.

USC went 16-4 overall and 9-1 in the PAC-12, capturing its first conference championship with a 12-3 win over Colorado in the title game. Ramsay scored twice in the final.

That win qualified the Trojans for the NCAA tournament, but they lost in the first round, 11-10 in overtime, to Denver.

Ramsay was a four-year varsity player for the Darien Blue Wave and earned Under Armour All-American honors as a senior last spring.
