Items stolen from Darien consignment shop
DARIEN — A purse and earrings were stolen from a consignment shop in Darien.
On Nov. 4 at 9:38 a.m., police were called to 1090 Post Road, home to Double Exposure, a Darien consignment shop. According to the complainant there, a Louis Vuitton purse and a pair of earrings were stolen from the store on Nov. 3 between 3:05 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
According to the complainant, the suspect was a heavyset, black woman in her mid-to-late forties with dark hair. She wore a green shirt, black pants and carried a large gold purse. The woman is believed to have been in the store before, but employees do not know her name. The woman did not purchase anything at the store that day. After she left the store, employees discovered the purse was missing from a wall display.
The Louis Vuitton purse, which was there on consignment, was valued at $600. The earrings that were also taken were valued at approximately $90. They were brass square earrings with a blue pearl in them.
The store has surveillance footage from that day and the detective bureau is following up.
